Once your admission is planned and arranged, it is advisable to inform the following individuals and entities of your admission:

Your health insurance provider

We will also notify your health insurance provider of your admission. However, if your admission is the result of an accident, explicitly inform your health insurance provider. Inquire about any certificates that need to be filled out for your admission. To be eligible for sick leave compensation from your first day of hospitalization, you must personally inform the health insurance provider of your incapacity to work.

Your insurance company

Notify your insurance company if it contributes to hospitalization costs. Also, ask for any necessary forms or documents.

Your general practitioner (GP)

Inform your GP about the planned admission, as they will receive the results of examinations and medical records afterward.

Your employer

  •  If you are an employee: within two working days from the start of incapacity to work, send a certificate of incapacity to your employer and a second certificate to the advisory physician of your health insurance provider.
  •  If you are self-employed: within sixty days following the start of incapacity to work, if necessary, send a certificate of incapacity to your health insurance provider.
  •  If you are a civil servant: have the mandatory certificates required by your administration filled out by the treating physician.
