A modern, specially furnished hospital room contributes to a smooth and comfortable stay. A different type of room was developed for each type of patient. After all, surgical, obstetric, psychiatric and paediatric patients have different needs.
In any case, each inpatient has his or her own bathroom; providing added value in terms of hygiene, privacy and comfort! This bathroom is easily accessible to patients and health care providers.
Single rooms
More than half of the hospital's rooms are single rooms, because of the high demand for these rooms. All single rooms can be converted into a room for washing the patient. This involves sliding open a wall between the patient room and the bathroom to create a large area for the patient to be taken care of by the health care provider. This bathroom is also equipped with a walk-in shower.
Double room
All inpatients have a bed by the window, even in double rooms. Because of the space and layout of the room, there is sufficient space around the bed to take care of the patient. Also, accessibility with e.g. a wheelchair is still guaranteed. This space also ensures that the patient has sufficient privacy when it comes to health care providers and visitors. Each patient has a private bathroom with a sink and toilet. Each patient also has a TV and multimedia, refrigerator and safe.
Comfort and privacy
Air ventilation is provided with top cooling. Heat is kept out by an exterior sunshade, the heat generated by the refrigerator is extracted. Each room is also equipped with a safe for patients to store their personal belongings.
The spacious rooms have a sloping wall at the entrance door. This not only facilitates bed transport, but also has its advantages for staff supervision and creates a spatial experience.
A homely atmosphere
A design characteristic of the patient room is the low windows. These give the patients a view of the surroundings from their beds, which is important for their well-being. The low window sills also serve as benches for visitors.
To create a homely feel for our patients, familiar materials are used. Contemporary multimedia equipment is available as well. In addition to traditional television you can retrieve patient information and patients can also use wifi.
Safety
Patient safety is paramount. This is evidenced by the non-slip floor in the shower area, support brackets on the toilet and lack of sharp corners. Each bed has is fitted with a patient call button and an efficient emergency call button.
To prevent transmission of infections, each room is equipped with hand hygiene equipment for the healthcare provider. Furthermore, the hospital has about sixty isolation rooms to prevent transmission of infections in infected patients.
