When you are admitted to the hospital, you can choose which room type you wish to stay in: a common room, a double room, a single room, a luxury room (only at the maternity ward) or a parent-child room (only at the paediatrics ward).
For a single room or luxury room you will pay you a a room supplement. However, we are not allowed to charge a supplement in the following cases:
- Admission to a single room is necessary due to medical reasons;
- You are staying in a single room, as there is no shared or double room available;
- You are admitted to or transferred to intensive care or in the ER, for the duration of your stay in that unit;
- A child is admitted, together with an accompanying parent.
The quality of care remains assured for all patients: a more expensive room only offers you some more comfort and privacy.
Weekend at home
If the doctor allows you to go home for the weekend during your hospital admission, then your bed will be reserved for you. You will pay a reservation fee, which corresponds to the room supplement.
