Ambulance transportation to and from the hospital

1. Transportation for tests and treatments that do not take place at AZ Jan Portaels:

For certain tests or treatments that do not take place at AZ Jan Portaels, you will be transported by ambulance to the collaborating care facility.
The cost of this inter-hospital transport will be paid by AZ Jan Portaels on the condition that the transport 'there and back' takes place on the same day.

2. Transportation for discharge from AZ Jan Portaels:

If the transport 'back' is not performed on the same day, then this is considered a discharge from AZ Jan Portaels and you will have to pay the cost of ambulance transportation yourself.
When you are discharged and allowed to return home or another place of residence, the nurse or social worker will arrange this for you, if necessary.

3. Transportation in case of a medical emergency:

If this is a transport for a medical emergency and you have to be transferred to a university hospital, the invoice can be sent to your health insurance fund in order to obtain reimbursement.
