The Department of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery has two physicians, dr. Jorn Ruby, dr. Kim Taeymans and dr. Gert Mulleners, who deal with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the blood vessels. 
Both diseases of the arteries and veins are treated. 
For chronic wounds and diabetic foot wounds, there is a specific consultation under the supervision of a vascular surgeon and collaboration with a nurse wound specialist.

Our department is also responsible for the surgical treatment of chest and lung diseases such as lung cancer. This involves close cooperation with the Pulmonary Diseases department and with our network partners from the BRIANT hospital network.
