Car: parking options for visitors and patients

Parking P2: Kiss & Ride

The parking lot P2, located opposite the main entrance at 65 Gendarmeriestraat, is intended for patients who have difficulty walking, parents with a baby, to drop off or pick up close to the entrance. To facilitate this for everyone, it is recommended to park here briefly. In addition to its optimal location, this parking lot also has the advantage of free parking for up to 30 minutes.

Parking P1:

Long-term parking On the visitor's parking lot P1 at Gendarmeriestraat 63 (opposite the police station).

Paid parking rates:

 up to 30 minutes free
 30 to 60 minutes  € 2,00

 maximum rate (more than 6 hours)  € 8,00
 in case of lost ticket  € 18,50
Payment Terminal

For both parking lots (P1 & P2), take a ticket upon entry and pay at the payment terminal upon departure at the main entrance (Gendarmeriestraat). After payment, you have fifteen minutes to exit the parking lot.

Free Parking

On parking P5, you can park for free at the spacious Zenneparking. Follow the P5 Parking Route for this. The parking is located in Sint-Jozefstraat, the street between the Emergency department and parking P1.

Clients eligible for free parking:

  • For disabled individuals, parking spaces are provided on P2, right in front of the main entrance at Gendarmeriestraat 65. The parking is free upon presentation of the access ticket and the disabled parking card at the reception.
  • Spiritual leaders (Rabbi, Imam, Priest, etc.) providing assistance to the sick.
  • Oncology patients and their companion can park for free on "paid parking P1" after stamping the ticket by the Day Hospital Internal Medicine service.

General practitioners and organized medical transport collaborating with AZ Jan Portaels can use their parking badge on "paid parking P1 and P2.

Bicycle - scooter

You can safely park your bicycle or other wheeled vehicle, such as a scooter, in the bicycle shed just in front of the main entrance of the hospital. However, it is not allowed to enter the hospital with a (folding) bicycle, scooter, or other wheeled vehicles.
