On 13 October, two new dermatologists will start at AZ Jan Portaels! This also means that a Dermatology Department opening up at our hospital again.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Professor Dr. Sherief Janmohamed and Professor Dr. Jan Gutermuth.
Professor Dr. Sherief Janmohamed studied medicine at Erasmus University Rotterdam and then specialized in Dermatology and Paediatric Dermatology at UZ Brussel and Northwestern University Chicago.
Professor Dr. Jan Gutermuth specialized in Dermatology and Allergology in Berlin and Munich and worked at the US National Institute of Health/ Maryland (US). In addition to general dermatology and dermato-oncology, the professor's areas of interest are inflammatory diseases, such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or systemic diseases affecting the skin.
Professor Dr. Gutermuth is also a head of department at UZ Brussel and Professor Dr. Janmohamed leads the paediatric dermatology unit at UZ Brussel. Thanks to a good cooperation with UZ Brussel, we can make this co-operation a success!
